During a recent interview, republican nominee Mitt Romney is asked his opinion about medicinal marijuana:

As you will see, he wants to hear nothing about the topic. Along with such ignorance, he gives the outdated and ridiculous claim that marijuana is a gateway drug, leading to destruction in this country.

The main thing leading to destruction within this country is big corporate business, a government who refuses to control it. Instead, they wish to control everything else. Simplistic human rights, such as the choice to not only use nature as you so please, but to have the choice to an alternative, organic medicine, are indeed issues.

Medicinal cannabis users and those who benefit from the plant’s use; these people are not criminals. And very unsurprisingly:out of Americans feel the same way.

Recently, a group of 1,011 adults were polled in an Angus Reid opinion poll. The results of this poll concluded that 74% of Americans were in favor of “Alternative penalties” for those who have been caught violating cannabis laws, instead of jail and prison. Fines, probation, and community service are alternative examples.

The federal government is still cracking down on medicinal cannabis facilities, and President Obama is holding his objecting stance on cannabis; even though the majority of Americans oppose it. Ill patients and those who benefit from medicinal cannabis are not guilty of any crime, nor do they deserve criminal punishment.

I think we know who is truly guilty here: A government with ulterior motives, a government restricting people of their rights, and a government putting innocent people in jail for enjoying nature. Despicable.

The New Hampshire house of representatives recently passed Senate Bill 409, by a vote of 236 to 96. This is a wonderful Bill that allows for qualified medical marijuana patients to cultivate and have their own medicinal cannabis for therapeutic purposes.

“The veto-proof majority approval came following renewed veto threats by Democrat Gov. John Lynch, who previously rejected a separate, more restrictive medical marijuana measure in 2009.”

Even though the New Hampshire Senate had already passed a relatively similar cannabis measure in March by a vote of 13 to 11; because their was a fiscal note (written estimate of the costs, savings, revenue gain, or revenue loss that may result from implementation of a bill) added to this bill, it must now be sent to the House Finance Committee before the Senate will be able to do a concurrence vote, and although Gov. Lynch is expected to veto this bill once it’s passed and presented to him, with only three more senate votes, his anticipated veto will be overrode.

“Separate legislation — HB 1526, which sought to decriminalize the possession of up to one-half ounce of marijuana for adults for non-medical purposes — was rejected by the Senate on Wednesday. The House had previously voted in favor of the measure in March.” —10 days ago.

Hopefully New Hampshire will get the required Senate votes to override any veto that may occur. Individuals deserve an organic medicinal alternative, and hopefully the people of New Hampshire will soon have that right; a right we should have had many years ago.

On May 3rd, 2012: The state of Connecticut decided, by state assembly vote 95 to 51, in favor of legislation for the distribution and use of medicinal cannabis. Their democratic Governor, Dannel Malloy, is backing this decision.  

This bill is being proposed under the The Paliative Use of Marijuana act, which allows for the limited use and distribution of medicinal cannabis.  On May 5th, the Connecticut Senate  voted in favor of this act, 21-13. Once the governor officially signs this bill into effect, and it begins to be revised and refined, it is to begin on October 1, 2012. 


Although patients will not be able to grow their own medicinal cannabis, growers have the option of applying for a license to cultivate their medicine, but there is a $25,000 non-refundable application fee. Ouch. Here is a list of the approved medical conditions:  cancer, glaucoma, HIV, AIDS, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity, epilepsy, cachexia, wasting syndrome, Crohn’s disease, or post-traumatic stress disorder. What about the other patients in Connecticut that will benefit from medicinal cannabis, can they apply too?What about other medical conditions for which patients could benefit from medical marijuana? “An eight-member Board of Physicians would be established, including physicians and surgeons who are board-certified in one of the following specialties: neurology, pain medicine, pain management, medical oncology, psychiatry, infectious disease, family medicine or gynecology. The board would be able to determine additional medical conditions, medical treatments or diseases that qualify for palliative use of marijuana. A process to petition the board and to comment on additions under consideration would be established.”

The United States, the only developed nation that does not allow hemp as an industrial crop, continue to hold their stance on keeping the beneficial plant illegal. Both Canada and the European Union are two examples of places that use hemp for commericial reasons, such as food, textiles, and fibers.

Cannabis and Hemp describe two different things, and to read more about differentiating between the two, click Here. Hemp contains very little THC, an amount that is so low that a person would not be able to get high off of it, for it only contains about 0.3% THC. Hemp refers to the commercial/industrial use of the plant.

Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske (Person in charge of drug-control propaganda in the US) stated on the White House’s “We The People” website, this statement: “Federal law prohibits human consumption, distribution, and possession of Schedule 1 controlled substances. … While most of the THC in cannabis plants is concentrated in the marijuana, all parts of the plant, including hemp, can contain THC, a Schedule 1 controlled substance. The Administration will continue looking for innovative ways to support farmers across the country while balancing the need to PROTECT public health and safety.”

The government still holds to their claim that they are protecting people’s health by keeping our cannabis plant illegal, but it is only increasingly more obvious, with each passing day, that our government is not protecting the people, they are protecting the profits that their industries and pharaceutical companies accumulate. Hemp is an annual plant, providing yearly work, as well as a yearly surplus of hemp. Are our officials motives not clear enough, yet?

It is hard to ignore the state of economic peril our country is in, as well as the ways that legalization would help, if they would only allow it. We are living in a country governed by individuals who care only about profit, and about accumulation of wealth. Our wellbeing, our happiness? Do not be silly.

There are many legal synthetic marijuana products out on the market, and this is something that is both frightening and concerning. Although these products appear to be “natural”, they are nothing of the sort. Infact, they are just the opposite.

K2, and other synthetic marijuana products, are made with synthetic Cannabinoids, or chemicals made to replicate the effects of THC and the other naturally* occurring cannabinoids in cannabis. Although these cannabinoids, as well as the other chemicals (many of which are unknown), are legal; the side effects and long term effects of these products are not known, have not been studied, and can vary considerably.

Synthetic Bud consists of both “Herbs” as well as chemicals. Although many manufactures claim that these herbs, previously used for medicinal purposes, are present in the product; a particular study found that many of the natural herbs were not able to be found within the product, leaving it’s true contents to be unknown.

These products are mainly manufactured by individual sellers. This means that as long as the chemical is legal, as well as the “herb”, it can be put into the product, and inhaled into the lungs of the user. This is very dangerous because, many times, the true ingredients within the product are unclear.

Creating synthetic cannabinoids is such a silly process when natural, organic, and safe cannabinoids already occurr in our beloved Cannabis plant. Educate anyone you know on the dangers of smoking synthetic materials and chemicals, ESPECIALLY when the effects have not been studied. Do not touch these products, stick to organic cannabis, or nothing at all.

Although many people seem to think that there is no THC present in cannabis stems, they are delightfully wrong! Although the content is much lower than the bud, of course, there is still enough THC present in your weed stems to stand as a good enough reason to KEEP THEM; here is why:

If you have never cooked any cannabis edibles, this might be a great chance for you to save up your stems, and give it a try. Yes, you can cook with stems! This might sound like it would take FOREVER, but if you smoke a decent amount of weed, you will be pleasantly surprised with how quickly they accumulate.

I advise you use dank weed stems, but if you have mid stems with the dank stems they will not hurt. My advice is you use AT LEAST a half ounce. I am speaking from experience here my lovely stoners; I have cooked with dank stems, and they definitely taste just as good, and they get you just as stoned as cooking with weed.

My dear potheads, this is important:

We all know and love Mary Jane, and she is ever respecting, right? Well, we must respect her, too! If you arent storing your weed in the right containers, I’m going to tell you why you should, and how to do so.

The first place that most stoners choose to keep their bud is in the bag that you received it in, a plastic baggy, or something of that nature. This is no-good.

When cannabis is left out, it will dry out very quickly. Got a lot of ‘crunchy, dry’ shake at the bottom and corner of your weed bags? This is why. The air will dry up the nugs, they will crumble, the smoke will be harsher, and the quality ( THC content ) will decrease.

Also, the plastic bags can create a static electricity which can leave your kiefy THC sticking to the sides of the baggy. We do not want this!

You want a container that is air tight. A prescription pill bottle is a good thing to use, because they are airtight as well as an amber color, to prevent light coming through.

Clear, airtight jars are great for storing your weed for a long period of time. (In a DARK place, of course.) However, for everyday use, you want to use a jar that does not allow light through. UV light rays can and will dry out your weed. (You can find weedy jars here ) The more you take care of your herb, the better it will be, and the better it will stay!

The true origin behind ‘420’ is a really simple, yet really cool story. 

A group of 5 kids who went to a high school in California, who called themselves ‘The Waldos’, are responsible for the term 420. Everyday, outside of the school, the 5 Waldos would meet up at 4:20 and smoke some pot. At first, they used 420-Louis, but they quickly dropped the ‘Louis’.

The boys would meet up at 4:20, get in one of their ‘66 Impalas, and all they had to say was ‘420’, and they already knew it either meant “are you high?”, “Do you have any?”, or “Do you wanna smoke some now?”. No one knew what they were talking about, of course, they wanted it that way. How did this term spread so widely?   The Waldo’s, via connections from other friends, were tied to the band The Grateful Dead. Sometimes, they hung out together, using the term in front of the band. The band picked up on ‘420’, and that’s how it became so widely known and used. Thank The Grateful Dead :)HAVE A STONEY 420,

Glass gets dirty very quickly, and if you are like I am, I DO NOT like a dirty piece. Although a couple other cheap and easy resin tricks of mine can be found HERE, there is something that will work very well and quickly, if you have no other supplies. Read Up:

NOTE: Nailpolish remover can ONLY be used on glass pieces. DO NOT use on an acrylic piece, for it will wear down and dull the piece!

Acetone, the ingredient in nailpolish remover, is colorless, flamorable, organic solvent. A solvent is a substance that dissolves another substance. Acetone is harmful to the lungs and eyes, and should not be inhaled. Use only a little bit.

In my own experience, I have found that a little bit of nailpolish remover, mixed with boiling water, and a bit of shaking (as well as salt, if you have it) results in a very clean bong/piece, and FAST.

However, there are are a few rules: RINSE IT THOROUGHLY. Although I have read that chemicals may be left in your bong, when I rinse with salt and hot water, I can not notice anything different, at all.

People always want to know if this is safe, and in my own personal opinion, I am going to say yes. As long as your piece is solid glass and you rinse well with salt water, you will be okay. And, your piece will be sparkling clean!

According to a paper that was published in Germany in January; After cannabis laws were reformed, the number of suicides decreased. The number of suicide cases were studied a couple years before the passing of marijuana laws, as well as after.

Reseachers have found that in states that have passed medical marijuana laws, the numbers of suicide cases continue to fall. In the past, researchers have found a correlation between alcohol consumption and suicide. Because of both of these occurances, the passing of cannabis laws not only reduce alcohol related deaths, but suicides as well.

This interview took place in 2008. It is within my dear opinion that a man of true stance and belief does not and would not shift his stance so easily and quickly, as he has done. This proves evident in the many threats and raids that California and Colorado dispensaries have experienced and are experiencing, such as the most recent raid on Oaksterdam University, taking place on April 2nd, 2012.

These dispensaries have followed every state law, and they are only trying to aid their patients. Where is our right to choose what is best for OUR body?

In 2011, a phone poll was carried out in the United States to collect and evaluate attitudes and stances toward cannabis. With a reported 50% favoring medicinal marijuana for adult use, this marked the first time in history that cannabis was not outfavored.

On March 24-25, 2012: 1,000 people were polled and these were the results: 47% agreed, 42% disagreed, while 10% were undecided. The telephone poll asked adults if they “believe the country should legalize and tax marijuana in order to help solve the nation’s fiscal problems”, and the results speak for themselves.

As each day passes, more people learn the truth about cannabis. As more people learn the truth about cannabis, the truth will spread. This is only the beginning of something great, something great that WE can help make happen.

As of Thursday, April 5th, Washington D.C. health officials proceed with their plans to dispense and distribute medical cannabis. Six specific facilities have been selected to distribute the medical cannabis, and while they still must apply for their business license, the process is estimated to take only a few weeks.

The establishment of medicinal cannabis dispensaries was authorized in May, 2010. However, a ballot was passed in 1998, with 69% supporting it, only to have it take until now to be put into effect. With the targeting of many medicinal dispensaries within the past months, a waiver was signed to ensure the city would have no criminal liability if the federal officials stepped in to mandate.

With more and more states legalizing medicinal cannabis as well as holding pending legislation to do so, you would assume our federal government would realize this is what the people want. Instead, President Obama and his minions continue to raid dispensaries, wreaking havoc upon innocent cannabis patients.
